Timothy Kan

Timothy Kan is a trustworthy leader who is passionate about developing people, including himself, to their fullest potential. Known for his authenticity, humility, ethics, and responsibility, it is not surprising to many that Timothy has been an inspiring role model to those around him.  Over nearly 15 years in the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), Timothy has proven his strengths in both academics and leadership. 

After graduating with a Diploma in Aerospace Electronics (CGPA 3.8), Timothy served in the Republic of Singapore Air Force as a Specialist for three years, where he earned top accolades such as Top Graduate in his Specialist Cadet Course and Outstanding Serviceman of the Year Award. His outstanding leadership performance earned him an opportunity to convert to an Officer, where he topped his course (again) and earned the Sword of Honour. His source of motivation was clear - to be the best leader he can be, so he can lead his people well.

With his strong academic and military performance, Timothy was awarded the SAF Academic Scholarship. Despite having a strong foundation in engineering, he made the decision to transit and pursue a Degree in Psychology instead. His purpose was clear - to understand people and human motivation so he can lead his people well. 

In his university days, Timothy was also active in Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs). He believes that personal development should be done both within and beyond the walls of a classroom. With zero experience, Timothy started learning Taekwondo as a White Belt. One year later, with unshakeable discipline and focus, he clinched three Gold medals in just one competition. 

Timothy also spent a semester at the United States Air Force Academy, where he sharpened his expertise in both Leadership and Psychology. Committed to academic excellence, two of Timothy's assignments were rated top in class by his professors. Committed to leadership excellence, Timothy studied military strategy, completed the United States Airborne Course and earned the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Gold). He earned placement on the Dean’s Honor List that semester.

After graduating from Nanyang Technological University with an Honours (Distinction) in Psychology, Timothy returned to the military. He continued to sharpen his thinking skills as a Research Officer, his leadership skills as a Platoon Commander, and his instructional skills as an instructor. 

With over a decade of experience developing youths and junior leaders, Timothy believed that he could do better and decided to upgrade himself. His purpose was clear - to be able to lift youths and junior leaders to even greater heights.

As an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation, Timothy has conducted over 180 hours of coaching across 45 clients, empowering them to achieve clarity, confidence and results in their personal and professional lives. He is also a registered Leadership and Life Skills instructor with the Ministry of Education, underscoring his impact in education and coaching initiatives.

Timothy is also committed to ensuring high quality for his programmes. After attaining the Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP 2.0), he is now pursuing the Diploma in Design and Development of Learning for Performance (DDDLP 2.0). His purpose is clear - to design and deliver high quality programmes for everyone.

Above all, Timothy is deeply committed to giving back to society. As a Level 1 Mentor with Mentoring SG, he actively contributes to youth mentoring programmes, such as the Centennial Fund Award Programme and the #amPowered Programme. He is currently also working towards being a registered Basketball Coach to extend his reach to as many youths as possible.
